My Story

Hello,

On the 17th March 2024, this Irishman marked St Patrick's Day by running The Rome Marathon. It was sunny and warm, so I felt like a bit of a ruin myself at the end of it all. But I completed the race in 4 hours 55 minutes and 24 seconds without having to resort to walking at any stage. Considering the event was six days after my 64th birthday I am pretty pleased with that performance!

I was running the event to raise funds for the charity that I founded, Pipal Tree, and its support to the Lily's Leaves social enterprise in Nepal. This provides training and employment to vulnerable and deaf young women who would otherwise stand little chance of progressing within society.

I have very nearly reached my fundraising target. Can you please help me get there?

Thank you so much.

Philip
